2016 Style trends

I always like to keep my eye on the world of interior design and try to predict what the latest trends will be, this way, when clients approach us, we have a clear idea of what the future holds in terms of style and design, below is a few of the things we think will be big in 2016.

Mismatched furniture

Mismatching furniture is going to be the way to go this year,  The best way to achieve this look is to combine antiques with mid-century and contemporary pieces particularly classic design icons which are timeless and will make your mismatched furniture look like a lifetime’s collection as opposed to a jumble sale.

Bright White Walls
Choosing to paint your walls white means they can act as a blank canvas for the furniture and art. Art collections mounted as a collage on a wall are becoming a big feature in interiors, as furniture and fabrics become more vibrant and varied, it helps to have a bright and uncluttered setting to show them off. As part of our own renovations, we will be making our spaces lighter and brighter so that the furniture pieces can take centre stage.

Formal Dining Rooms

Back in fashion is a formal space to entertain your guests although we were always fans with the formal dining room. Moving away from sharper designs, the curvaceous forms are known to make a room more comfortable and inviting especially when matched with the right soft furnishings. Feature dining chairs are a good way to make your formal dining room more stylish and less stuffy.
