THE BARTON CROFT INTERIOR PROJECT

This bespoke kitchen combines the warmth of locally sourced Cornish oak with vibrant painted cabinet doors, creating a space that is both contemporary and full of character. The bold red-orange doors provide a striking contrast to the natural timber, while handcrafted details throughout ensure the kitchen remains timeless rather than trend-led. A bespoke oak butcher’s trolley with a traditional end grain beech worktop provides a practical preparation space while complementing the craftsmanship found throughout the interior.

A shared appreciation for local timber shaped the heart of this project, with my client visiting a local timber yard that we both regularly use to hand select the Cornish elm slab that would become the dining table. Crafted with a solid oak frame, the live-edge table celebrated the natural beauty and individuality of the timber, giving the space a centrepiece with a genuine connection to Cornwall.

Completing the interior is a large walnut sideboard with seamless push-to-open drawers and carefully selected grain-matched fronts, allowing the beauty of the walnut to take centre stage while maintaining clean understated lines.
